RFK Jr. proves detrimental to the national and international healthcare industries

On November 14, 2025, President-elect Donald Trump controversially appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as head of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Kennedy is a conspiracy theorist unfit to head the DHHS for the next four years. Kennedy’s past claims have included that water should not be fluoridated, that vaccines cause autism, and that COVID-19 was engineered not to harm Chinese people or Ashkenazi Jews. He is a source of anxiety for the healthcare industry, spreading medical misinformation that led to the deaths of more than 50 of those who believed his lies in 2019. He has also prosecuted biotech organizations based on the false claim that they are corrupt and trying to control the American public health system for their own benefit. Since his nomination, Kennedy has threatened to cut off funding for government-run research organizations and prosecuted the medical press. In his new position, Kennedy will control the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institute of Health (NIH), whose policies influence medical care and prominent companies across the nation’s healthcare industry. Kennedy’s pseudo-scientific beliefs will continue to wreak havoc on vaccine companies and his plans to disassemble the government’s medical agencies will radically change America’s healthcare system.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is infamous for his vaccine skepticism, which has caused vaccine industries and civilians alike to suffer. Using his background as a lawyer, Kennedy has already attempted, in court, to convince the FDA to revoke the approval of polio and measles vaccines. He relies on the claim that the two vaccines cause autism in children, a claim that has already been disproven by scientific studies. When visiting Samoa in 2019, Kennedy blamed the deaths of two infants on the measles vaccine and recommended avoiding it. The resulting measles outbreak killed 83 people. Vaccines have been an effective form of disease prevention since their invention in 1796, and every vaccine is tested rigorously and proven safe by the FDA and NIH before it becomes available to the public. However, Kennedy still makes uninformed claims about the safety of vaccines, and his skepticism puts citizens at risk of disease outbreaks that can be prevented with vaccines. As the leader of the DHHS, Kennedy will control the FDA, NIH, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), all of which approve and implement medical treatments, including medications and vaccines. Using his new position, Kennedy plans to revoke vaccine mandates and discourage vaccines as he did in Samoa. The day after Kennedy was nominated, important pharmaceutical companies that make critical vaccines lost significant stock market shares. Pfizer shares fell 4.5%, Novavax shares fell 2%, and Moderna shares plummeted a whopping 30%. Investors expect a coming decline of vaccine companies upon Kennedy’s acceptance, and even in the past year, the number of certain vaccinations has dipped in response to Kennedy’s rhetoric, weakening the vaccine industry and tripling the number of certain disease outbreaks. With national healthcare under the control of an anti-vaccine activist, the number of cases of contagious disease will continue to increase and the public health systems already weakened by Kennedy will be pressured to fight new disease outbreaks.
Not only will Kennedy weaken the vaccine industry, but he will also slash jobs, redirect resources, and remove valuable programs in the FDA and NIH. Kennedy refers to the FDA as “a sock puppet to the industries it is supposed to regulate.” He hopes to eliminate this “corruption” by removing the “user fee” program, in which companies in the medical industry pay the agency to seek product approvals. This fee generates half of the FDA’s budget. Kennedy has also told workers in the FDA to “pack [their] bags” in preparation to be fired. The FDA is crucial to the production of new and effective medicines; without funding from the “user fee” program and without all of its employees, the FDA will not be able to carry out its typical rulings and disprove many of Kennedy’s misinformed claims. The FDA isn’t Kennedy’s only target. He has promised to slash 600 jobs at the NIH, as well as turn its $48 billion annual budget away from drug development and studies that might explain high rates of chronic diseases. Without funds for drug development, the funding needed to develop new medical treatments will be dramatically reduced. He has promised to prosecute prominent medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. These medical journals publicize important research and discoveries in the medical field and educate medical students and healthcare professionals alike. Kennedy, a champion of misinformation, believes they are corrupt, as they have expressed their lack of support for his unscientific views. Soon to be under the power of RFK Jr., whose prominent political family has called his views “dangerous” and a “betrayal of family values”, government-run medical agencies and major informational sources of the healthcare industry are now braced for danger, censorship, and turmoil.
Robert F. Kennedy will wreak havoc upon the healthcare industry of our nation, endangering Americans and spreading disinformation. He has spurred the decline of biotech companies, plans to cause turmoil in national industries devoted to the management of healthcare, and hopes to suppress medical publications used by doctors around the country. Kennedy is a threat to the citizens of America and will inevitably cause disorganization, disease, and disaster in the healthcare industry.
