Editorial Bios

Editors-in-Chief:

  • Tia R: Tia is a senior at BB&N and an Editor-in-Chief of the POV. Her passion for journalism began on morning drives to school with her dad, listening to the local 90.9 WBUR news channel. Since then, she has come to value not just staying informed, but using that knowledge to inspire change. In her time away from the POV, Tia enjoys reading, cross-country biking, and rowing on the Charles River.
  • You-Yan W: You-Yan is a senior serving as an Editor-in-Chief of the POV this edition. He’s fascinated by the origins of political beliefs and the evolving nature of higher education and corporate America. Catch him solving puzzles in the NYT Games section every morning, occasionally reading Malcolm Gladwell, or rowing on the Charles.

Assistant Editors-in-Chief:

  • Mirabel G: Mirabel is a current junior at BB&N. She joined the POV in freshman year and enjoys writing about U.S politics and international policy. To her, the best part about writing for the POV is getting the opportunity to educate herself on modern-day issues. In her spare time, you will probably find her out running, baking treats, or playing with her dog.
  • David X: David Xiong is a senior at BB&N who first came to BB&N in seventh grade. Currently, he serves as the Assistant Editor-in-Chief at the POV and the Editor-in-Chief of the Knights Roundtable section, where he hopes to continue to further the POV’s mission through bringing political perspectives of school and local community members to life. When he is not writing or editing for the POV, he enjoys reading, surfing on the North Shore or Hawaii, running for the Upper School cross country and track teams, and traveling around the world to understand different cultures.
  • Matthew W.: Matthew is a senior at BB&N and has enjoyed writing for the POV since freshman year. He is hooked on foreign and domestic socioeconomic topics and exploring the intersection between politics and economics. Outside of the POV, Matthew enjoys spending time on the Charles River with Boys Varsity Crew and competing with Varsity Wrestling.
